Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH)

Improving community health and preventing waterborne diseases through safe water and sanitation.
Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH)

Access to safe water and proper sanitation remains a major challenge in many rural communities. Stawi implements WASH initiatives aimed at improving community health and preventing waterborne diseases.

We build and rehabilitate the physical systems needed for water, sanitation and hygiene, and support the construction of sanitation facilities in schools, health centers and communities. We educate and motivate people to adopt safe hygiene practices, collaborate with governments, NGOs and communities to reach more people, and use new ideas and technologies to improve water access and sanitation efficiently.

Key interventions

  • Infrastructure development — wells, toilets and handwashing stations.
  • Behavior change campaigns promoting safe hygiene practices.
  • Partnership development with governments, NGOs and communities.
  • Innovation in water access, sanitation and hygiene solutions.
